Instructions

Preheat the Cuisinart® Toaster Oven Broiler to 400°F. Butter a 1¼ quart baking dish. Insert 4-mm slicing disc in Cuisinart™ Prep 11 Plus Food processor. Cut pear halves in half lengthwise; arrange in large feed tube. Use medium pressure to slice. Remove. Toss with lemon juice and spread evenly in buttered baking dish. Dry work bowl with paper towel and insert metal blade. Process hazelnuts and ½ cup sugar until nuts are finely ground - about 15 to 20 seconds. Add the evaporated milk, 6 tablespoons of the melted butter, eggs, vanilla, almond extract, flour, baking powder, and pinch salt. Process for 10 seconds, mixture will be smooth and creamy - do not overblend. Pour the batter over the pears, drizzle with the melted butter and sprinkle with the remaining sugar. Bake until golden brown and set, about 40 to 45 minutes. Cool on a rack for 15 minutes before serving; serve warm with freshly whipped cream.
